Mano and Sujatha's rendition does full justice to this song as well. A "folksy" duet from a "son of our soil" Bharathiraja film - that sounds so folksy and filled with soul/spirit even without the usual dholaks and nadas that Tamil songs were used to. "Sounds" is what sets Rahman apart from other MD's - so much so that one could even go to the extent of broadly classifying Tamil (or even Indian) film music as - "Pre" and "Post" Rahman era!
